Sen. Camera Bartolotta

Senator Bartolotta
Sen. Camera Bartolotta brings an entrepreneurial spirit and a wealth of real-world experience to her job representing residents of Beaver, Greene, and Washington counties. A longtime resident of Monongahela, she was elected to her first term representing the 46th Senatorial District in 2014 and was re-elected in 2018 and 2022. She was elected by her colleagues to serve on the Senate Republican Leadership team as Majority Caucus Secretary.
For The People
Throughout her time in the Senate, Camera has worked to turn practical ideas into meaningful change. She has authored laws to support first responders struggling with post-traumatic stress, protect victims of domestic violence, and expand access to job training programs. She has fought to ease burdens on farmers, strengthen fire and EMS companies, and ensure critical care services remain available through Medicaid. Her efforts have also preserved Pennsylvania’s water supplies, made ride sharing services, such as Uber and Lyft, legal in all 67 counties, improved school bus safety, and increased penalties for drivers who endanger workers and first responders. She has also been a leading voice for fiscal responsibility, introducing a proposed constitutional amendment to rein in government spending and protect taxpayers.

Championing Pennsylvania
Beyond legislation, Camera has taken on some of the state’s toughest challenges. She helped expand Pennsylvania’s Clean Slate law and championed a program to provide free photo identification to homeless individuals—removing barriers that often stand between people and the opportunity for work, housing, and independence.
Fighting for a better government
Her committee work reflects the concerns of her district: enabling family-sustaining jobs, insisting that government works efficiently, and holding state agencies accountable. As chair and later vice chair of the Senate Labor and Industry Committee, she played a key role in uncovering serious flaws in the state’s Unemployment Compensation system during the pandemic. She also serves on the Community, Economic and Recreational Development; Environmental Resources and Energy; Judiciary; Policy; Rules and Executive Nominations; and Transportation committees

Boosting the Commonwealth
Camera’s leadership extends beyond the Senate floor. She co-chairs the bipartisan Gas and Oil Caucus, bringing people together around policies that affect energy, jobs, and Pennsylvania’s economy. She co-founded the Criminal Justice Reform Caucus to make communities safer and reduce recidivism, and she drew on her own background as an actor and producer to establish the Film Industry Caucus, highlighting the role the entertainment industry plays in creating thousands of good jobs and bringing billions of dollars to the Commonwealth.
Professional experience
Before public service, Camera built her own career as a business owner and creative professional. She opened the Mon Valley’s first quick-lube shop, the Duke of Oil, which she operated for more than three decades, and she produced La Dolce Vita, a cooking and lifestyle program that aired on WPXI-TV and PCNC.

Part of the community
She has also remained deeply involved in her community. She has been appointed to the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and the Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council, and she serves on the boards of the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency, the Pittsburgh Film Office, the Pittsburgh Ballet, the University of Pittsburgh Institute of Politics, and the Pennsylvania Prison Society.
Proud American
For Camera, family is both a source of pride and a constant motivation. Her daughter, Devin, is an award-winning reporter and anchor in New Orleans and the mother of Camera’s first grandchild, Florence. Her son, Dante, is a commercial pilot in western Pennsylvania and father to her second grandchild, Rosella. Together, they inspire her to stay rooted in community and to keep working for a stronger, safer Pennsylvania.
